Description
With our expertise in this domain, we are able to offer Sugar Refining Mills that is based on sulphitation process. This mill was first installed and commissioned at Vitthalrao Shinde SSK Ltd in Solapur Distt of Maharashtra in July 2009. Partial refining systems (Syrup & Melt Clarifiaction systems) have also been commissioned by us at 3 other factories in Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh.
2007-08 was a watershed year for the Indian sugar industry, when as a result of a bumper sugar cane crop globally there was a glut in the Indian markets resulting in higher stocks and lower prices. The industry went into a tailspin. Unless Indian sugar manufacturers diversified into exports, the domestic consumption would not be able to keep pace with the production and the spiral could continue. Since most of the countries abroad prefer only refined sugar unlike the Indian consumers, it was not possible to produce export-worthy sugar unless they could convert their factories for producing refined sugar.
Simbhaoli Sugar Mills operates 3 integrated sugar mills and produces a large variety of specialty sugars for domestic and export markets and has a vast pool of resources, which have been made available to Digital Utilities for providing consultancy services to other sugar mills for converting their mills, so far producing plantation-white sugar using the sulphitation process to producing fine, refined sugar with a variety of product mix.
The JV also would provide assistance in training of operating personnel of the customers as well as assistance in exporting their produce.
A number of well known sugar mills have approached Digital Utilities with a very keen interest in the conversion of their existing sulphitation process into sugar refining and some of them are in an advanced stage of negotiations.
